In the month of September Startup&Angels brought to life a three-day event series called Fintech online Event series. The event ran over three days from the 28th – 30th September 2021. From 5:00 – 6:00 PM each day. The event turned out to be three eventful and spectacular afternoons that took everyone on a journey through the land of all things Fintech. As a bonus, the event featured break out rooms where the attendees had the opportunity to get advice and socialise with their choice of fintech founders and companies.
The focus for the event was to have different topics each day around fintech which would allow our attendees to get a deeper understanding and get more opportunities to learn about the world of fintech. Since APAC is still in lockdown we hosted an online event series that enabled people from all over the world to join the event. The aim was to help attendees gain knowledge and get a better understanding of the role of Fintech in the global financial services industry and explore the next big trends and innovations.
Day 1 - Funding & Industry trends worldwide
The first day was all about exploring the funding and industry trends that are picking up pace globally. The MC of the event was Leo Denes | Co-Founder of Startup&Angels and the Moderator was Brendan Bennett | Director, Partnerships and Expansion at Fundsquire. Day 2 - International Fintech Pitches & Founders Panel
Day 2 focused on pitches from early-stage startups. Our panel of Founders brought the event to life. The MC for day 2 was Axel Peyriere | Co-Founder at Startup&Angels and the Moderator was Mike Scott | CEO & Co-Founder at NONA. The event was graced by Caroline Tran | Co-Founder at Clever (Australia), Lucas Fernandez Brillet | Co-Founder at StockFink (Spain), Mathias Leopoldie | CEO at Julaya.co (Abidjan, Ivory Coast), and Martin Tang | Co-Founder, Genesis Alternative Ventures (Singapore) as our esteemed speakers.
Day 3 - Scaleups and Growth ( Series A+ ) Panel Discussion
The topic for day 3 was scale-up success stories. MC for the day was Leo Denes | Co-Founder of Startup&Angels. The Moderator was Pierre Vanrenterghem | General Manager at Rosemont Business Asia. Panel discussions and expert advice
On Day 1 our speakers defined and gave our attendees a better understanding of fintech and fintech companies. The goal was to explain why fintech companies are different from other tech companies. Our Moderator from day 1 Brendan Bennett also shared some information on how to raise capital for your company.
On Day 2 Mike Scott, CEO of Nona Digital introduced his blog where he interviews fintech founders and their companies. Who busted the myth that fintech is not just ‘ buy now pay later’ instead that is just a part of fintech. The event progressed to our founders pitching their companies and sharing some valuable information around fintech with our attendees.
On Day 3 Pierre Vanrenterghem kicked off the event with an introduction to himself and the company. Day 3 revolved around Scale stories and we had an amazing panel discussion. One of the highlights was the story of AgriDigital a unique company that builds technology services across agricultural supply chains.

Breakout rooms
The event progressed to the breakout rooms where the attendees had the opportunity to introduce themselves, discuss their businesses and get expert advice from the speakers . The breakout rooms are also a great way to network amidst the lockdown.
